Sherman Desselle is a native of Alexandria. He is a graduate of Peabody Magnet High School and later of Northwestern State University in Natchitoches in Vocal Music Performance.

He was offered a position as a part-time videographer in June of 2008, and by the end of the year, Sherman enjoyed the experience of being on both sides of the camera. By July of 2009, he was made our "One Man Band" reporter, covering the weekend news and NSU sports. He later began anchoring the Weekend Edition newscasts on News Channel 5 and reporting our "What's Right About Cenla" stories. You can now watch Sherman Monday through Friday on Jambalaya from 5am – 7am.

When Sherman is away from the station, his wife and new baby boy keep him busy. He speaks at local schools and community events, a mentor for high school students, a board member for the Rapides Symphony Orchestra, a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, National Association of Black Journalists, and is active in his local church.
