Today President Trump is set to meet with Republican congressional leaders at the White House about what’s up with the current legislative session. With lagging efforts concerning replacing Obamacare and current struggles with getting a tax reform package through, Mr. Trump will most likely be asking more from Republican leaders. The president also wants progress made on a future infrastructure proposal. Time is running out though, Congress is only scheduled to be in session for another 4 weeks before the recess on July 4th.
Heavy hitters are set to attend this meeting, including House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. It’ll be interesting to see what action will be taken, there’s surely a ton to discuss.
In his visit to New Zealand today, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was met with a cold welcome when around 200 protesters showed up to oppress their discontent with who they call “Trump’s henchman”. Tillerson will only be there for eight hours, but his motorcade was greeted by a slew of middle fingers, some members of U.S. media stating that they’ve never seen so many people flip the bird at an American motorcade.
