UPDATE: Charges upgraded for Natchitoches multi-car accident suspect, injured 3-year-old passes way

NATCHITOCHES, La. (NPD) - UPDATE: According to the Natchitoches Police Department, the three-year-old child who was critically injured in Monday's multiple-vehicle accident passed away on Tuesday evening.

Brandy Wiley's charges have been upgraded to negligent homicide. She was previously charged with negligent injuring, reckless operation, improper lane use, and disobeying a red light.

Wiley is currently being held without bond.

The Natchitoches Police Department said a 3-year-old was critically injured, as well as two others, Monday night in an accident involving multiple vehicles.

The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. at Keyser Avenue and East Fifth Street. Police said Brandy Wiley, 38, was charged with negligent injuring, reckless operation, improper lane use and disobeying a red light.

Police said two others received moderate injuries. There were also four parked cars that were damaged.

The 3-year-old, who was an occupant in one of the cars, was airlifted to a hospital.

Wiley's charges could be upgraded. Currently, she's being held in the local jail where she awaits bond.
