PINEVILLE, La. (KALB) - The weather may have been a little dreary, but it wasn't enough to dampen the spirits of folks in Pineville on Saturday.
The City of Pineville and the Downtown Development District hosted their first ever 5th Saturday Market on Main Street.
Every year there's four months that fall with five Saturdays, March being the first time of 2019.
It's a fun way for residents to know the event will be underway right next to the Pineville Community Center. The free event includes lots of food trucks, vendors, and live music.
Coordinators said it was great to see so many people come out for the event.
“You know the biggest thing that I've seen is that families are coming out and they've got young kids,” expressed Doug Gann, Special Events Coordinator. “We've made it pet friendly, so people are bringing their dogs on leashes. It's a good time, you're seeing young families get out and do things in the community. And that's the blessing of it all is that our community is grabbing a hold of it. So whether you're young or old, have a pet or don't have a pet, there's something out here for you. So that's the cool thing about it."
If you missed Saturday's event, there's still three more this year. The next one will be the fifth Saturday in June.
