AEX Creatives hold first Culture Fest

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - A recently formed group of local artists banded together Saturday to give back to the community they love.

AEX Creatives held their first ever Culture Fest at Frank O Hunter Park.

The group partnered with local groups Cenla Strutters and Riverview Ryders to give free school supplies and food to families in the area.

It was all day event with concert and talent showcases in the evening.

Group members said they not only wanted to show what Cenla has to offer, but also wanted to get their kids prepared for the new year.

"It feels good because I know when I was younger there was no one to do it for me, so I want to do it for them," said AEX Creatives member Kimberly Gail. "And to put that smile on their face and also motivate them that they can do whatever they want to do and be whatever they want to be."

AEX Creatives members are excited to continue this event in the future.
