The Alexandria Police Department is currently investigating two shootings that occurred over the weekend.

On Saturday, Dec. 14, at 1:05 p.m., APD responded to a shooting on Williamson Street. While they were investigating, a private vehicle brought an unresponsive male gunshot victim to a local hospital.

APD responded to that hospital and contacted the driver, who reported she had been driving through the area on Williamson Street when she was flagged down by individuals who put the victim in her car and asked her to take him to the hospital. The victim, identified as Marlon Chaney, 39, of Alexandria, was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

On Sunday, Dec. 15, at 12:28 p.m., APD responded to Overton Street regarding another shooting. When APD arrived, they located a 45-year-old man who had been shot. That man was transported to a local hospital. APD has not identified this individual.

APD detectives are still investigating both cases. Stay with News Channel Five for any new developments.
