ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - A ribbon-cutting happened Thursday morning at the Alexandria Emergency Hospital, which is a new health care option for Cenla residents.
The facility located on Coliseum Blvd has a goal of treating everyone in a timely manner.
Doctors, like Kelvin Spears, the hospital's Chief Medical Officer said staff will make an effort to have their patients seen and treated in thirty minutes or less.
The hospital is open every day, 24 hours a day, offering both in-patient and out-patient imaging and lab services.
“We have an emergency room that's fully staffed by trained and experienced emergency physicians, but we also have inpatient services for those patients that need to be admitted,” Dr. Spears explained. “There are cardiologist, pediatricians that will take care of inpatient needs as well. We also have an out-patient line of service for imaging including CT, MRI, ultrasound, basic radiology, as well as basic lab and EKG’s."
