The Alexandria Exchange Club and Southwest Beverage are donating “Bags of Hope” for kids in need.
The Exchange Club dropped off the bags to Alexandria and Pineville Police Departments as well as the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office. The bags are filled with stuffed animals, blankets, and other comfort items for kids that find themselves alone in a police station because of abuse or they are waiting to be picked up.
"It's part of giving back. These children are in need of something to make that situation a little less dramatic and stressful. So, this helps the children. It's a part of the exchange club giving back to the community,” said Jerrod King, Alexandria Chief of Police.
The group handed out around 150 bags.
