Alexandria pawn shop loses roof in storm

South Circle Jewelry and Loan Owner George Lyles told us around 12:30 p.m. he got an alarm activation call from his shop that sounded too bizarre.

"There was a door activation, window activation, roof activation. Everything was activated," Lyles said.

When Lyles got there, he saw his roof had blown off and scattered about the service road on Macarthur Drive.

Lyles said although this was some of the worst storm damage he's witnessed in his 34 years in business, the sub-roof saved a lot of merchandise from being damaged. He's expected to be back open soon.
