Alexandria man arrested in domestic abuse, rape case

ALEXANDRIA, La. (RPSO) - An Alexandria man was arrested after victims reported Wednesday that he allegedly beat and raped them.

RPSO responded on April 24 to a report of a disturbance on England Drive in Alexandria. The victims claimed that Justin Jerome Gillespie, 37, of Alexandria, committed a domestic battery and criminal sexual acts on them.

The victims were treated at a local hospital for their injuries.

The suspect was not at his residence when deputies attempted to make contact. He was later located in the Lecompte area where he was taken into custody without incident.

Gillespie was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center for one count each first-degree rape, second-degree kidnapping, domestic abuse battery strangulation, criminal damage and two counts of domestic abuse battery. Gillespie is currently being detained at the detention center in lieu of posting a $228,500 bond.
