The Alexandria Police Department said they responded to the incident around 7 p.m. on September 23, 2019, and found a vehicle stopped at the intersection of Welwyn Way and Wellington Boulevard, with two men inside. White had been shot and was later pronounced dead at the scene. The other man was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

According to APD, suspects in one car shot at another car. They believe the shooting sparked from a dispute between the suspects and the victims. APD said the incident began in another location and one car followed another to the area where it escalated to a shooting.
