ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - Although Saturday’s weather stopped the fun, today was a beautiful evening for an Easter Egg Hunt.

The City-wide Easter Egg Hunt happened Tuesday evening in downtown Alexandria at the mini-park across from City Hall.
Kid’s ages 4 through 12 joined the Easter Bunny in a hunt for 10,000 eggs filled with toys and candy. Six of those 10,000 eggs were golden eggs and filled with a special surprise. There were music and lots of dancing, as well as bounce houses for the kids to enjoy.
The city’s Community Services Director, Von Jennings, said she hopes this event continues.
"We’re pleased to be able to continue offering this to the youth in our community,” Jennings said. “It’s ten thousand eggs, several golden eggs were filled with money, and it's just a great event for the youth in our community and their parents to come out in the beautiful spring weather and have a good occasion."
