Amateur radio communication support beginning for Tropical Storm Gordon

(Louisiana Amateur Radio Emergency Service) - Local Amateur Radio Operators activate the Amateur Radio Emergency Services High Frequency Nets of operations to provide communications support to Emergency Management agencies and the American Red Cross as they prepare and respond to Tropical Storms Gordon.

Jim Coleman, Section Emergency Coordinator, reported that communications support is Commencing in some areas as the storm strength increases and it approaches the state. Net operations should commence around 4:00 pm CT on September 4, or as the Governor's Office of Homeland Security requests.
