BALL, La, (KALB) - Employees for the Town of Ball have some questions after being notified that they will no longer be paid every other Tuesday, but every other Thursday instead. That was supposed to go into effect Tues., Aug 13.

A letter was sent to all employees on July 30, except for the Ball Police Department, saying that the change will be permanent, but did not explain as to why the change is taking place.
According to Police Chief Marshall Deen, after a meeting this morning with Chief Deen and other city officials, the town agreed to pay the police department on Tues., Aug. 8, as usual, because they were the only department not notified of the change. The Town claimed that a failure to notify the department was an honest mistake.
We also spoke with Mayor Willie Bishop. She says that not just the police officers are getting paid today, but all Ball employees will be paid.
We reached out to Ball employees, and as of 3 p.m. on Tuesday, they had all been paid.
We have attempted to contact town accountant Mark Roberts as well for some answers and for a reason why the change ended up not taking place today, but have not been able to get in touch with him.
