Body found in Cane River


NATCHITOCHES, La. (Natchitoches Police Department) - On Monday, September 26, around 9:43 a.m., a citizen contacted police headquarters in Natchitoches in reference to a body floating in Cane River.

Officers and detectives of the Natchitoches Police Department responded to Williams Ave., just south of the Church St. Bridge where they located a body floating face down.

The incident in-question was immediately turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) of the Natchitoches Police Department for further investigation.

Detectives were then able to determine that the deceased male subject was Antonio Francisco, 28. Francisco’s brother was contacted and informed that his brother was deceased. Francisco’s body was later transported to the Coroner’s Office in Lake Charles. The investigation into Francisco’s death is ongoing.
