Body found in burning car in Marrero

The body of a man has been found inside a burning vehicle.
The State Fire Marshal's Office, in a news release, said investigators were dispatched to a scene in Marrero shortly after 9 a.m. after fire crews responded to a vehicle fully engulfed in flames in the backyard of a home.
After the fire was extinguished, crews found the severely burned and lifeless body of a man in the passenger area of the vehicle, which was destroyed. The home received minor damage.
The body was released to the Jefferson Parish Coroner's Officer for an autopsy to determine the official cause of death. The victim's identity has not been released.
Details as to the cause of the fire are being withheld. The investigation remains active.
