ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - A new bond amount has been set for Kayla Giles, 31, who has been arrested for second degree murder for shooting her soon-to-be ex-husband, Thomas Coutee, 30, to death in the parking lot of Walmart on Coliseum Boulevard. It happened right in front of three children, one of which was a young daughter that the two shared together.

Over the weekend, bond for Giles was initially set at $500,000. That was later changed to Giles being held without bond. On Tuesday, bond for Giles was set again, this time to $1 million.

The two were in the midst of a divorce and a contentious custody battle, according to court documents. Coutee had even taken out a restraining order on Giles, accusing her of being abusive.
