Bowlers participate the Special Olympics and get for the state tournament
Nearly 40 bowlers made their way to the Four Season bowling alley, Saturday morning to participate in the Special Olympics.
Saturday's tournament determined who would qualify for the 2019 state tournament, which will take place in Baton Rouge, Jan. 2020.
"This is our first of many," Charles Courville, the field service coordinator for the western division of the Special Olympics stated. "We have 40 athletes today, but my goal by the end of 2020 is to have 200 athletes in bowling, track, etc."
Nearly 20 athletes from Saturday's tournament will go to the state championship.
