The bus driver besties started running their Oak Hill routes back in 1989.

Rose Ingalls and Janet Holt said they knew of each other before taking the job, but grew even closer over the years.

"We decided to go out together," Ingalls said. "I could have went out earlier, but I just hung out for her."

Both said they loved to talk before and after routes, but their favorite part was hanging out with the students.

RPSB held an end of the year in service for all drivers and recognized the ladies with a plaque.

They said after driving three generations they knew it was time to go.

"Got to see a lot of things and do a lot of things with the children throughout the years," Holt said. "We wouldn't trade it for anything, best job."

Transportation Director Daniel Bryant said their love for the job really showed.

"These ladies have driven two to three generations worth of students now," Bryant said. "It is a family community out there in Oak Hill and they are phenomenal."
