CLTCC Riverfront Campus opens six months ahead of schedule
CLTCC's Riverfront Campus opened six months ahead of schedule. Monday staff and manufacturing students started enjoying their fall semester.
The building sits between the Red River and Second Street. The Manufacturing Training Center has large spaces for manufacturing, welding, HVAC and electrical classes.
Students were busy going through orientations and the first steps of the semester.
The new campus on Desoto and Murray Street is also well on its way to an opening day! CLTCC's Chancellor said it is set to open sometime in the next few weeks. He is excited that the downtown plan is almost complete.
"It is one thing to see it on the drawing board," said CLTCC Chancellor Jimmy Sawtelle. "But, to see it day one, six months ahead of schedule with our students in the classrooms rearing to go, it is just amazing. It is beyond what we imagined."
Students are ready to get the year started.
"Sorta ecstatic about it," said student John Morgan. "More technology and I am all about the technology. It makes it easier for us."
