RAPIDES PARISH, La. (KALB) - Qualifying has ended for the Feb. 23 election, and now the candidates have been set.
Rapides Parish has two state representative races on the ballot. Running for Dist. 26 are Rapides Parish School Board Member Sandra Franklin and Alexandria City Councilman Ed Larvadain, both Democrats.
It's a special election after Jeff Hall, who held the seat, won the Alexandria Mayoral election in November.
State Representative District 27 is also on the ballot. Pineville Lawyer Mike Johnson announced months ago he is running as a Republican, and Pineville carpenter Richard Kretzsinger qualified on the last day as a Democrat.
The election is set for Saturday Feb. 23.
