Every year, we team up with the Food Bank of Central Louisiana and the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe to put on the Christmas Cheer Food Drive!

It's a chance for students across Cenla to collect canned food for families in need.

Grant Parish

On Tuesday, we collected and weighed out the food from Grant Parish schools. The food is then brought back to the Food Bank and distributed to families in need this holiday season in Grant Parish.

Five schools participated in Grant Parish and brought in more than 7500 pounds of food.

Avoyelles Parish

On Wednesday, we moved on to Avoyelles Parish.

Eight Avoyelles parish schools participated bringing in more than 15,000 pounds of food.

Natchitoches Parish

On Thursday, all the food collected in Natchitoches Parish was weighed out.

Representatives from the Sherriff’s Office helped sort and weigh the collected food.

Natchitoches Parish students brought in more than 46,000 pounds of food.

Rapides Parish

On Friday, more than 40,000 pounds of food was donated in Rapides Parish.

On Saturday, hundreds of volunteers will help sort the food so that it can be redistributed to Rapides Parish families this season.
