Community celebrates hunting, catfish and LA Wildlife and Fisheries agents

DEVILLE, La. (KALB) - It's finally the most wonderful time of year for Louisiana's hunters.

The 2019 hunting season is upon us, so State Representative Mike Johnson wanted to show Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries agents how much they are appreciated.

He brought the community together in Deville Tuesday night to share catfish and celebrate the great outdoors with agents. They came from around the area and Baton Rouge, to mingle folks. They also addressed any feedback or concerns about our sportsman's paradise.

"I think it is an awesome thing," said Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Secretary Jack Montoucet. "We try to do that all over the state so we can reach out. People can see who we are, get to meet us, get to shake hands with us. We can have personal conversations of things that are important to them in their areas."

Representative Johnson hopes to make the dinner an annual tradition.
