Cottonport officer injured in high-speed chase

A high-speed chase in Avoyelles Parish led to a Cottonport officer being injured on Tuesday morning.

, the chase started in the Cottonport area, involving both Cottonport police and the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office. On Crackville Road, the officer hit a dip in the road and her vehicle flipped over.

Cottonport Police Chief Earnest Anderson told Avoyelles Today that the injured officer was assisted by bystanders and then airlifted to a hospital for medical treatment.

The suspect involved was reportedly taken into custody, according to eyewitnesses.
