Crest Industries hosts manufacturing day for local students
Crest Industries is hosting Manufacturing Day on October 6, 2017 to
give more than 100 students from across Central Louisiana the chance to explore careers in manufacturing and manufacturing technology.
From 8:30 a.m. until noon, Crest subsidiary companies will provide demonstration booths and have employees available to meet students and describe the opportunities that a manufacturing career can offer.
In addition, representatives from both Northwestern State University and Central Louisiana Technical Community College will be on site to present their degree programs that prepare students for manufacturing careers.
Manufacturing Day is an annual national event executed at the local level by thousands of manufacturers as they host events to showcase modern manufacturing technology and careers for students, teachers, parents and job seekers.
To mark this event locally, the City of Pineville and the City of Alexandria are issuing proclamations honoring October 6, 2017 as Manufacturing Day.
“We are excited to be a host site for Manufacturing Day,” said Kenny Robison, CEO of Crest Industries. “It is a great opportunity to inform and educate students about rewarding career opportunities and
high‐quality jobs available to them here at Crest Industries and in Central Louisiana. Manufacturing is one of the keys to economic growth and long‐term success in our country. We look forward to some of these students returning as future Crest employees!”
