BUNKIE, La. (KALB) - Curfews have been issued for the cities of Bunkie, Oakdale, and Simmesport.
The City of Bunkie has issued a curfew for Saturday night into Sunday morning.
Here is the full statement from BPD:
"Due to Tropical Storm Barry, the City of Bunkie will be enforcing a curfew from 10:00 p.m. on Saturday night until 6:00 a.m. on Sunday morning. The curfew will be enforced for the safety of the citizens of Bunkie due to strong winds, heavy rains, and power outages. Please stay in your homes and in case of emergencies please contact Bunkie Police Department or call 911."
Simmesport will be under a curfew from 8:00 p.m. Saturday until 6:00 a.m. on Sunday.
Oakdale has also been issued a curfew for Saturday night into Sunday morning.
“This is for the safety of our citizens due to possible downed trees, powerlines and flooding. Everyone, please stay indoors and again call if you need us we will get to you,” said Oakdale Police Chief Joseph Lockett.
