RAPIDES PARISH, La. (DOTD) - DOTD has announced that nightly alternating lane closures will begin on MacArthur Drive (US 71) and the adjacent frontage roads beginning on Monday, January 21, 2019, at 7:00 p.m.
The lane closures will extend from the Alexandria Power Center to England Drive to allow for milling and resurfacing of the roadway. The roadway will be fully open to traffic every morning by 7:00 am. The work is expected to be completed by the end of August 2019.
There are no detours at this time associated with these lane closures. Also, there will be no width restrictions associated with these lane closures.
All construction activity is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
