The family and friends of Courtney Coco held a peaceful demonstration outside of the Alexandria Courthouse on Friday.
The group, which has been fighting for justice for over 15 years, says that they are still waiting for an arrest of Coco's killer.
Courtney's mother, Stephanie Belgard, says that she had a meeting this past November with the district attorney, and she claims he told her that he knew who killed Courtney and would be making an arrest within two weeks. Belgard says that eight weeks have passed, and there has still not been an arrest. Now, the family is ready for something to be done.
"I just want them to know that we are not going away,” Belgard said. “We will fight until the end for justice for Courtney, and that we just want whoever did this to her to be behind bars, where they belong.
District Attorney Phillip Terrell says they've met with the family several times, and it’s been far too long for the family waiting on justice.
