ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - Following the Alexandria Krewe Parade, the party didn't stop there. Folks 21 and over were invited down to the Rapides Parish Coliseum for the Finale Royale.
There they got a chance to enjoy some refreshments, a few drinks and a few live performances by The Molly Ringwalds, and local bad boys 92 Twenty.
This party was something the Alexandria Mardi Gras Association held for many years at the mall, but they stopped the tradition a few years back.
But, they figured with it being an anniversary year, plus the recent renovations to the coliseum, why not bring it back?
"It's really exciting to bring this back to the community and just give them somewhere to go," said SMG Marketing and Event Services Manager Paige Fontenot. "Come out of the cold and have something to do."
We're told they sold around 600 tickets for the event, just in presale.
They hope to make the Finale Royale a tradition again.
