ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - The Alexandria Fire Department responded to a call at the East Sycamore Apartments of off England Drive, around 6 o'clock Saturday.

An apartment duplex near the back of the complex was on fire.

The complex is part of The Housing Authority of the City of Alexandria.

No one was injured in the fire and the apartment was vacant.

After arriving at the complex, AFD was able to put the fire out quickly.

The Alexandria fire department says it is now under control.

"All I know right now is it was a vacant duplex with no utilities connected to it," said AFD Fire Prevention Officer Thomas Force. "The fire came in, the fire department responded and had it put out in about ten to fifteen minutes. As of right now, the fire is still under investigation."

The cause has not been determined yet, we will update on our website when we have more information.
