Foreign national arrested in criminal sexual conduct case
RPSO deputies responded on May 31 to a Pineville residence in reference to alleged criminal sexual conduct involving a juvenile.
Ruben Guzman Flores, 34, of Alexandria, was identified as the suspect. Through their investigation, including an interview with the victim at the Rapides Children’s Advocacy Center, detectives were able to establish sufficient probable cause that supported the original allegations.
Warrants were granted for Flores’ arrest in reference to first degree rape of a person under the age of 13.
Flores, who is a citizen of Mexico, was taken into custody on June 21 without incident. He was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center in reference to the warrant, as well as an unrelated warrant for contempt of court. Flores remains at the parish detention center in lieu of posting a $100,000.00 bond.
Because he is a foreign national, the Department of Homeland Security placed an Immigration Detainer on Flores pending the outcome of his judicial proceedings.
Detectives say their investigation is still ongoing and additional arrests are possible.
