Former Bunkie officer arrested, warrants out for former chief
We learned on Wednesday that a former Bunkie police officer has been arrested, and warrants are out for the former Bunkie chief, Bobby Corner.
Nicholas Desselle, 26, was a patrolman and dispatcher at Bunkie PD but left after Corner lost the re-election earlier this year. We’re told Louisiana State Police investigated the department and issued warrants for Desselle and Corner.
Desselle was arrested and booked into the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office for one count of tampering with surveillance or monitoring. His bond has been set at $10,000.
Corner has reportedly agreed to turn himself into APSO. We spoke to his attorney, Mike Small, who told us there are four warrants for two counts of malfeasance in office, injuring public records, and tampering with surveillance or monitoring.
Will update this story when we know more.
