Former police officer arrested for alleged bar fight

A former Pineville police officer, who also once worked for the Alexandria Police Department and Woodworth Police Department, has been arrested by Alexandria police for allegedly getting into a bar fight.

According to a police report obtained by News Channel 5, a warrant was issued for Lance Carter after a report of a fight at Buds N Suds (29 MacArthur Drive) on Sunday where he allegedly punched a person and struck another in the back of the head with a beer bottle.

According to the Pineville Police Department, who was his employer at the time, he resigned from the department on Monday. They gave us this statement, "Mr. Carter resigned from his position at the Pineville Police Department before his arrest. We support and will continue to cooperate with APD in their continuing investigation."

He was arrested and charged with aggravated battery on Tuesday afternoon. He has since bonded out.
