Fourth suspect wanted in Evangeline Parish burglary
The Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office is seeking a suspect wanted in a burglary investigation.
A residence was burglarized on June 10 around 2:09 a.m. in the 1000 block of Easy Street in Evangeline Parish.
A male suspect, identified as Bailey Richardson, entered the home through a bedroom window. The homeowner was awoken to a bedroom light coming on after hearing noises of the suspect's entry. The owner opened fire on the suspect, hitting him in the right thigh and right upper arm. The suspect exited the residence but was immediately detained by an off-duty deputy living in the neighborhood. The deputy was also able to detain other male suspects that assisted Richardson.
The suspects were arrested and transported to the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office Jail and charged with simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling and criminal trespassing. A bond was set for $40,000 on each suspect by 13th Judicial Judge Chuck West.
The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public's assistance in locating a fourth person, Shane Lashone Ceasar. An arrest warrant has been issued on Ceasar for simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling and criminal trespassing. He is said to be living in Opelousas.
