On Monday, Gov. John Bel Edwards announced that he has proclaimed May 7-13 “State Employee Recognition Week” in the state of Louisiana.
Along with the State Civil Service Commission and the Department of State Civil Service (SCS), Gov. Edwards, cabinet secretaries and agency heads across Louisiana are taking time this week to thank dedicated state employees for making a difference in moving Louisiana forward.
“The effectiveness of government largely relies on hard-working, competent and professional employees who make state services more accessible and diligently respond to the needs of our people,” said Gov. Edwards. “In the last year, I’ve been especially proud of the unwavering commitment I have seen from countless public servants aiding fellow citizens in need – while many of those same public employees and their families were suffering themselves – and for that, I am eternally grateful.”
