Harmony Village ribbon cutting ceremony

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Tuesday for Harmony Village in Alexandria.

Harmony Village is one of three sites the Alexandria Housing Authority is transforming from public housing to affordable housing using HUD’s Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) program.

The project is the result of a partnership with a CHDO, Mount Pleasant CDC to sponsor HOME development funds and provides assistance with the transition in addition to a partnership with BGC. The rehabilitation included energy upgrades to HVAC, water conservation methods, bathroom renovations, doors, windows, new lighting throughout and kitchen rehabilitation. All new appliances and flooring were installed. Porches were added as well as other exterior renovations.
