Hit and run driver charged with third DWI

ALEXANDRIA, La. (APD) - APD responded to a vehicle crash on November 30 around the intersection of Chester Street and Rapides Avenue around 3:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers learned that one of the drivers fled the scene at high speed, but a witness was able to get the suspect's license plate number.

The driver was identified as Anitia Minton, 31, of Ball. Officers found her at her home on Eastbrook Trace and conducted a DWI investigation after noticing signs of impairment.

The tests around 5:00 p.m. indicated that Minton's blood alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit of .08%. Minton was charged with a DWI-3rd offense, driving under suspension, careless operation of a vehicle, and hit and run. She was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center.
