Holy Savior Menard High School announces new principal

ALEXANDRIA, La. (Diocese of Alexandria) - According to the Catholic Diocese of Alexandria, Christopher D. Gatlin has been assigned as Principal of Holy Savior Menard Central High School in Alexandria, effective July 1, 2020.

The current principal, Dwayne Lemoine, announced his retirement in October 2019, to be effective June 2020.

Gatlin has served as Dean of Students, Head Football Coach, and Assistant Principal at Menard since 2017. He was also a Special Education Teacher and Football Coach at Ruston High School, Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Alexandria High School, Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Buckeye High School and Special Education Teacher/Football Coach at Abilene Cooper High School in Texas.

"As a Catholic school educator, I am excited to have the opportunity to establish experience for all students that embraces the values and beliefs of the Catholic Church," Gatlin said. "And as a Catholic school leader, I understand that I must demonstrate a love for a diverse student body...During my teaching career, I have discovered that every child can learn when in an environment that is safe, welcoming, and conducive to acquiring knowledge."
