ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - The Huckleberry Brewing Company is celebrating one year in Alexandria.
The popular spot has been hosting events all weekend, including live music, a hot dog eating contest, a birthday bake off, and the unveiling of two new beers. Not to mention some food trucks and a snow cone stand were on hand.
In typical Huckleberry fashion, all proceeds from the event were for a good cause. This time it went towards the Food Bank of Central Louisiana’s Good Food Project.
Owners said it's been a great year in Central Louisiana, and they're humbled by all the support during it.
"That's what you want,” expressed Jacob Willson. “You hear about the breweries around the state having releases and the community comes to support them, and wait for them and show up in droves, and the response is just fantastic."
"I'm with him 100 percent,” added Dale LaBoeuf. “It's great not only for the beer release, but for people lined up ready to buy raffle tickets, and buy tickets for the bake off to help raise money for the Good Food Project, it's just an overwhelming sense of community here, and it's something that we like."
The birthday weekend continues on Sunday with a Jazz Brunch Buffet.
