The event opened with a prayer in Korean. Then Zenaida Maraggun dazzled the crowd by performing an Indonesian candle dance. They also watched a video outlining Asian American Pacific Islander military service throughout America's wars.

Lunch consisted of dishes like egg rolls, noodles, and Korean sushi. Leesville First United Methodist Church Pastor Sean Cho said celebrating diversity is important for Christians and the community.

"Jesus Christ welcomed no matter peoples ethnical and historical background. So as a church, as a pastor, as a Christian, we need to welcome any kind of people in our hearts."
