ALEXANDRIA, La (KALB) - We have seen many stories where sports has played a major role in people coming together. Holy Savior Menard High School has proven this is true.
Four year old Elizabeth DiStefano was born with down-syndrome and was recently diagnosed with leukemia. Principal Lemoine, the Menard football program, students, and staff have come together as one to donate over $4,000 in proceeds to help out the Distefano family.
“God put us on this journey, but God is going to see us through this journey too. The support has just been amazing from all of our family here,” Ashley DiStefano said.
“I am so grateful to all of the students, Mr. Lemoine, the faculty and staff for all the wonderful things they’ve done for Elizabeth. The fact that they’ve prayed and prayed hard for our wonderful granddaughter means a lot,” Bobby DiStefano said.
If you would like to donate to help their family, you can contact the Menard community and Cabrini school.
