ALEXANDRIA. La. (KALB) - The Epsilon PSI Lambda Chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity hosted a group of young men on Saturday to teach them life skills for their future.
The fraternity met with boys ranging from age 12 to 18 this morning for the Alpha Ambassadors Club. During the program the attendees heard from different speakers about suicide prevention, how to have a productive summer vacation, and even automotive upkeep and repair.
Fraternity members say it's their way of guiding these boys into manhood.
"I think it's very important because there is a missing link in our community these days where not enough male role models are taking the lead and showing these young men how to be good Christian young men," said
Alpha Phi Alpha also gives college scholarships to high school graduates. They say being a part of the ambassadors club can give you a leg up for that opportunity.
