Louisiana College received over $300,000 in support last week
Louisiana College has announced that from August 26 - 30, a large influx of donations and support has come in to the college, totaling over $300,000.
“The Lord has blessed the College in multiple ways this past week, which I know you want to share in praise and thanksgiving,” said Dr. Rick Brewer, president, in an email to Louisiana College leaders. “We received individual financial gifts of $100,000, $20,000, $10,000, $5,000, and several gifts ranging from $100 to $1,000.”
One donor provided an additional $65,000 to equip a state-of-the-art Computer Science lab. Brewer also mentioned the Board of Visitors, the Legacy Society and Wildcat Club as college supporters as well.
Brewer expressed “humble and heart-felt gratitude” for all the Louisiana Baptists who support the College through the Louisiana Baptist Convention Cooperative Program. “This underwrites tuition costs about $3,000 annually per student,” he said.
Louisiana College also noted that since the Fall 2019 semester began, more than 50 students have made a public profession of faith in Christ.
“This is where giving to Louisiana College reflects far more than support for practical needs," Brewer said. "Rather, all monies given to Louisiana College are integrally connected to our Vision of Preparing Graduates and Transforming Lives, which ultimately entails the spiritual renewal and growth of the students God has entrusted to us."
