FOREST HILL, La. (KALB) - Spring is just around the corner, and if you're looking to add a little color to your home landscape, this is a great weekend to do so.
The 34th Annual Nursery Festival is underway in Forest Hill.
Hundreds of nurseries are set up next to Town Hall to sell plants and flowers to the community. On top of that, they have all sorts of vendors selling foods and crafts and a carnival with rides for the kids.
The festival raises money for Forest Hill's Volunteer Fire Department and the chief said it gets better every year.
"It makes me feel really good,” expressed Terry Stokes. “I was a fireman in Alexandria for 32 years. And after I retired I got drafted into being the chief, you know. It's been going on for around 35 years. It's like a big family reunion."
If you didn't get a chance to make it on Friday, don't worry! The fun lasts all the way through Sunday afternoon, including the parade on Saturday morning at 10.
