ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - There are approximately 26,000 farms in Louisiana and out of those 3,500 are owned and operated by women. This is the reason for the Louisiana Women in Agriculture Conference happening March 21 and 22.
Louisiana Women in Agriculture Conference
The conference will be held in Alexandria for the third year in a row. It will allow women across the industry to network and learn the latest in agriculture. There are a host of speakers from Louisiana and across the country, including Marji Guyler-Alaniz, the Owner of FarmHER TV in Urbandale, Iowa, and Louisiana Ag Commissioner Mike Strain.
Louisiana agriculture contributed $12.7 billion to the state's economy in 2014.
