ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - The Rapides Parish School Board is inviting parents, teachers and community members to the superintendent finalists public forum. It's a chance for the community to get to know the district's final three candidates.
The event will take place Monday night at the Instructional Resource Center, across from the school board.
A meet and greet with candidates begins at 5:30 p.m. and the public forum begins at 6 p.m.
The three finalists have ties to Rapides Parish. Kimberly Bennett is currently the district's Executive Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum. Deborah Heitman was a former Rosenthal Elementary Principal and Jeff Powell worked for the district's administration.
School board members encourage everyone to attend.
"We want the public to come out and ask questions," said board member Darrell Rodriguez. "Meet the candidates and help us decide which one will be best to lead our Rapides Parish system."
Questions can be submitted at the public forum or online. Visit the attached link to submit a question.
