Miss Mayme’s Bread Pudding as seen on Good Day Cenla


ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - Miss Mayme’s Bread Pudding from Tunk's Cypress Inn, as seen on Good Day Cenla:


1 Loaf Bread – Torn in small pieces
1 Cup Raisins
1 Half Gallon Milk
2 Cups Sugar
3 Tablespoons Corn Starch
1-1/2 Teaspoons Cinnamon
10 Eggs
1-1/2 Teaspoons Vanilla


• Tear Bread into pieces
• Put into shallow quarter pan
• Add Raisins over top
• Pour Milk over all bread
• In separate bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon and cornstarch
• Mix well with wire whip until all lumps are gone
• Add eggs and vanilla
• Whip together well
• Pour over bread
• Bake in water in larger pan at 350 for 1-1/2 hours
• Cut into 15 pieces (3 x 5)

2 Cups of Sugar
½ # Oleo
4 Cups of Water
6 T Cornstarch
2 Shots Old Charter
