NATCHITOCHES, La. (NSU) - The Northwestern State University community paused at 8:46 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11 to honor individuals who lost their lives in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, their families and first responders.

The university family observed a moment of silence, sang the national anthem and joined in a reflection of Patriot Day and the meaning of freedom, liberty and faith.

The tribute took place at the flagpoles at the center of campus with the participation of NSU’s ROTC cadets.

Members of the Student Government Association distributed American flag pins.
