NEW ORLEANS, La. (AP) - A New Orleans rapper awaiting trial on murder charges in the shooting deaths of two men has pleaded guilty to two lesser counts.

Widner Degruy, 27, pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice and conspiracy to obstruct justice - charges stemming from an investigation of the 2015 killings of brothers Kendrick and Kendred Bishop.

Defense attorney Gary Wainwright said DeGruy saw his two friends gunned down and didn't tell police who shot them.

Orleans Parish prosecutors said in a statement Friday that DeGruy still awaits trial April 1 on two counts of second-degree murder.

The statement said a codefendant, Jonathan Evans, is serving 20 years after pleading guilty to manslaughter.

Degruy raps under the name Flow. He's signed to Lil Wayne's Young Money label.
