Alexandria, LA (KALB) - A local fraternity is making sure that young boys in the area are exceptional readers.
The Epsilon Chi chapter of Omega Psi Phi hosts monthly Q-Read meetings at Arthur F. Smith Middle Magnet. Students and mentors discuss the books they have read and participate in special readings with the club members. The young men say the extra reading assignments are fun and help them get better grades. There are about 20 boys currently enrolled in the Q-Read book club at Arthur F. Smith.
Omega Psi Phi is the first international fraternal organization founded on the campus of a historically black college. They were founded in 1911 at Howard University in Washington, D.C.
